Midterm
I had a lot of fun with this project. I got most of the images from my personal collection of a few thousand pictures. The image on the top left corner is from my wedding in Colorado. The image right next to it is my brother, my sister and me. The image on the top right corner is an Indian from Mexico called Yaqui. Right below the Yaqui is a picture of the restaurant that I manage, it is called the Whippletree Restaurant. The picture of the American eyes, the Classic Mini Cooper and the American Flag came from multiple websites. The dog in the background is one of my two puppies, her name is Cali. The picture on the bottom right corner is my mother and the picture on the opposite corner is me when I came to the United States 9 years ago. At first I didn’t know what to do, I had so many ideas in my head and I couldn’t decide which one to do. Once I came up with this idea, I started to go back in time and tried to make a timeline of my life with the most important people in it, including my dogs. I also wanted to show my roots and where I come from. The native Indians from Sonora, Mexico, are the Yaquis. Hobbies are also very important to me, they help me to relax my brain after a long week of hard work. I own a 1992 Classic Mini Cooper just like the one on the self-portrait. Those three girls are the ones that I love the most, my wife Jessica, my mother Dora Emma and my sister Karla.
If you were to try to guess who this person is just by looking at the self-portrait, you will know that this person comes from Mexico, is married, he has one brother and one sister, and some how he is related to the Whippletree Restaurant. You would also know who his mother is, and know that he likes Mini Coopers. So the final message is the one I intended it to be. Overall it was a very good project.
